I started my yoga journey in 2001 just doing a couple of classes at my local gym growing up in Cape Town, South Africa. Having done ballet and other forms of dance growing up. I loved expressing myself through movement of the body and I loved the organic fluid feeling of moving into different forms and exploring how I felt before during and after. As time went by and I slowly became more curious and was practising on a daily basis. I completed my first 200 hours YTT in 2010 with Yoga Alliance based school on the Iyengar principles at "Shades of Yoga" in Umhlanga South Africa. I then continued my journey doing a 14-day course in Kerala with Sivananda Yoga. Yoga for me is about self-expression through your wondrous being. It is finding your inner self through movement in your body and your breath unifying them into one. It is about bringing a community together to breathe together, evolve together and grow together. I then completed my 2nd 200 hours Vinyasa flow YTT with "The Shala" an RYS school in Cape Town. I am also certified level 3 Reiki practitioner. It's trusting your shadow to show you your light. Once the trust is there your heart begins to smile and laugh at reflecting where you have been and that everything is perfect in in the moment. Presence is key. Having benefited from incorporating yoga and holistic therapies into my own life, I am now passionate about sharing these tools with others. I believe that yoga is for everyone of every age, size and fitness ability.
